19 September 2026 — Torii House Phonograph Co. is proud to announce that its catalogue has surpassed 250,000 combined streams across YouTube and major streaming platforms, marking a significant milestone for the independent label's ongoing growth and artistic development.
Driven by the ambitious work of creative director Rose Molyneux and flagship artist Marjorie Valentine, the achievement reflects the growing audience for Torii House's distinct blend of literary songwriting and uncompromising artistic identity.
Founded with limited resources but expansive creative ambitions, Torii House Phonograph Co. has steadily built an audience by prioritising artistic vision over industry convention. The label's releases have explored themes of identity, culture, power, trauma, technology, morality, and personal transformation, cultivating a dedicated listener base across multiple platforms.
Statement from Rose Molyneux, Creative Director
According to the label's creative leadership, the milestone represents less of a finish line and more of a challenge.

"A quarter of a million streams is a strange milestone. On one hand, it's a number. On the other, it's proof that people are willing to spend their time with work that doesn't always take the easiest path. That's deeply meaningful to me.
Torii House was built from nothing. No institutional backing, no industry machine, no guarantees. Just a handful of people who believed that there was still room for ambitious work and distinct artistic voices. Reaching 250,000 streams doesn't make the work complete. If anything, it raises the standard. It proves people are listening, which means we have an obligation to make the next thing even better.
One of the most rewarding parts of this process has been watching artists challenge each other. The myth of the solitary genius is romantic, but most worthwhile things are made through a conversation. Every artist on the label brings a different set of strengths, perspectives, obsessions, and blind spots. The friction between those things is often where the best ideas emerge.
Building a label as a livelihood is difficult. There's a tendency to imagine creativity and business as opposites, but sustaining art requires structure and an acceptance of risk. Every success creates a new challenge. Every step forward reveals problems you didn't know existed. That's frustrating at times, but it's also something you can learn to live with. Growth means encountering realities that force you to become better.
We're proud of what we've accomplished so far, but I don't think any of us are interested in standing still and admiring milestones. A quarter of a million streams is encouraging. The real question is what we build next."
Statement from Marjorie Valentine, Artist
For flagship artist Marjorie Valentine, the milestone represents both professional validation and personal growth. Raised in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, Marjorie's artistic journey has been shaped by adversity, reinvention, and an intense determination to transform difficult experiences into creative work. Her music under the Necrostatic banner has become a defining part of the Torii House catalogue.

"I've spent most of my life believing that if I wanted something done properly, I had to do it myself. To be completely honest, part of me still believes that. I'm very aware of what I bring to the table, and I don't think confidence should be a dirty word.
The problem is that eventually you realise talent isn't enough on its own. You can spend years trying to force every door open by yourself, or you can learn that other people aren't always obstacles. Sometimes they're opportunities. That's probably one of the hardest lessons I've had to learn.
Torii House gave me room to become a better artist than I would have been alone. Not because anyone changed my voice, but because I was finally surrounded by people who challenged me to sharpen it. You don't get stronger by talking only to yourself.
I came into music chasing recognition. What I found was something more complicated. I found a place where I could take everything I'd been through, all the mistakes, anger, ambition, stubbornness, and turn it into work that actually connected with people. That's a gift not every artist gets.
So yes, I'm proud of the milestone. I'd be lying if I said otherwise. But I'm even more excited by what comes next. We built this audience one listener at a time, and I think we're still at the beginning of what we're capable of achieving. Hopefully that's good news for everyone else. If not, they'll be hearing from me anyway."
Looking Forward
With a quarter-million streams achieved, Torii House Phonograph Co. is entering its next phase focused on continuing to build a sustainable independent ecosystem for ambitious artists. The label views the milestone not as a culmination, but as proof that independent artists can build meaningful audiences through creative conviction.
As Torii House looks toward future releases from both Rose Molyneux and Marjorie Valentine, the company remains committed to challenging expectations, taking artistic risks, and creating work that rewards close attention.
